I love this movie!

Prompt: Write for 10 minutes about the phrase "death in a bathroom."

This is a writing prompt that I ran with.

It was a stark contrast: the bright, oozing red against the whiteness of hit all. I had seen scenes like this in the movies. I was a voyeur to those. Kept back at a distance, seeing and wondering and safe.

But this was entirely new. I knew the person. Intimately. No, I know what you are thinking, but it wasn't like that. Not really. Sure, I wanted it. But there was something about her that made me hesitate. Perhaps it was the coldness of her gaze as she watched people fall into her web. None of the others made me feel this way.

Perhaps that is why this felt cathartic.

The brightness of the blood reminds me of her lipstick. The one that she always wore. She called it seduction in a tube, and would make any man do whatever she wanted him to do.

It didn't work on me. But oh how I wanted it to. To see her curl those lips of bloody crimson up at me. To have that mocking glance and smirk shoved in my direction. I wanted it so bad. But no. I kept my cool. Kept my distance. It would be by my design. Not hers. Never hers.

Drip, drip, drip. I smile at the scene before me. Classic in ever sense. Her eyes, unfocused, unseeing, stare into the dark abyss, or so I hope.

She looks so relaxed, laying as she is in the claw footed bathtub, still dressed in her bathrobe. I needed to give her some modesty. I don't want those coppers to see what was supposed to be for my eyes only.

I run my hand through her hair, just one more time. The ebony locks will no longer haunt my dreams. The succubus is no longer draining me, taking my everything.

Drip, drip, drip. I smile at the sound of her blood striking against the white tiled floor, splashing like a tear from her vein. My work is done for now. Until the next one comes around.

Poptarts and the Bifrost Bridge

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4

Watch the video. Really watch it. I swear that Loki is somehow behind this. Nyan cat has to be one of Loki's kids. He is in the shape of a poptart and has the Bifrost coming out of his butt. If that does not scream Loki, then what does? It would also explain why Thor love poptarts so much. They remind him of his brother, and he loves his brother no matter how big of an ass he is.

Plus, the annoying as hell music? I see that trickster god behind that as well.

Poisonous Plants

I write and do a lot of research on various topics. One year for Script Frenzy (an online writing contest to write a screenplay in a month) I wrote about a little old lady that murdered people by poison. But instead of using ordinary poisons, ie: cyanide, arsenic; I decided that she would use various deadly plants.

It is amazing how many poisonous plants out there, some that grow almost everywhere. I now pay better attention to plants and trees, because you never know what might happen if you come into contact with something beautifully deadly.

There is an author, Amy Stewart, who has books about deadly plants. "Wicked Plants" is the title, and you can learn all kinds of things about common flowers. The following are pdf's of her press kits. Fun stuff.

I Spy With My Eye... Something Wizardy

This is a picture of a random wizard I saw, with my friend Amanda, when we went to the Apocalyptica concert in Denver in 2010.

I love this picture. It is one of those times when you stop and go, what the hell? I'm pretty sure that everyone was wondering what was up with the guy. Amanda actually rode on the elevator with him. It is not something anyone expects when they were at a concert until the wee hours of the morning.

He was there for a reason though. There was some kind of pagan/spiritualism fair going on that weekend. And he was joined by a woman wearing robes and stuff, but sadly no pointy hat.

Saint Anthony, the patron saint of bacon.

Fabric Store Gangs

I had a thought today about what it would be like if a person were to walk into a fabric store to find two rival gangs fighting over the last bolt of orange taffeta.

I imagine the gangs as little old women, The Canes vs The Walkers. Now, some would think that the canes would have the edge, but, have you seen the way an old woman with a walked can move. Geriatric ninjas.

     Imagined taunts from the gangs:
I'll stab you with my seam ripper.
Don't make me baste your ass.
                                                     I'll show you a thimble.
I'll pin you like a pattern to silk.
At least I can sew a zipper without the special foot.

Sometimes I find that my mind goes to place it really should not go.
